Place the router carefully
Position it in an open, central location away from thick walls, large metal objects and other electronics. Hiding it in a cupboard can significantly weaken coverage.
Use the right frequency
5 GHz and 6 GHz can provide higher speeds at shorter range. 2.4 GHz reaches further but is usually more congested. Modern mesh systems can improve larger properties when correctly positioned.
Test before buying equipment
Run an Ethernet test first. If Ethernet is fast but Wi-Fi is slow, improve the home network. If both are slow, contact the provider or investigate line conditions.
Test your connection
Return to the Speedly speed test to measure your current connection.
